Research interests
My main research interested lay in applied mathematics, especially in the investigation of geophysical processes and applications of geophysical techniques. Recent active areas of research are:
- Wave physics, i.e. seismic and electro-magnetic wave propagation and simulation
- Geophysical single and multi-physics tomography, i.e. travel-time tomography, full waveform modelling and inversion, joint-inversion techniques
- Exploration and monitoring for geothermal power plants, including conventional, EGS and CPG systems
- Optimized experimental design techniques for exploration and monitoring
Recent research focii have been:
- Approximation and stability for operator equations esp. of partial differential equations, functional analysis and numerical linear algebra
- Investigation of numerical stability and behaviour of multi dimensional interpolation techniques
- Robust control of systems of ordinary differential equations and the integration of machine learning techniques
