This course is given by our external lecturer Philipp von Gronau, who works for Trianel GmbH and can thus illustrate concepts of energy resources management with many real-world and hands-on examples.
Course content
The block course provides in-depth knowledge of the energy industry with a focus on energy trading as a central component of modern energy markets. It covers market structures, players and mechanisms, as well as the role of technical, economic and regulatory conditions.
One focus is on trading strategies and risk management, as well as current topics such as renewable energies, emissions trading and international market integration.
In the practical part, students test their knowledge in a market simulation in which they act as traders and portfolio managers and gain practical insight into pricing, portfolio management and strategic decisions.
